Tough guy

I wish I had pictures or video to compliment this post because what happened on Sunday is almost too funny to describe with just words but Fussypants is ALL BOY. Pink may be his favorite color but after the run of Ouch Reports we got last week and the one today, the weekend’s smack down, and his new “move” in hockey – he is one tough little dude (or so he thinks).

Tuesday: I get a phone call at work from his school, that Fussypants is ok but while painting, an easel fell on him (which they have since thrown away, being unaware that it was not in proper working order) and cut his lip and gum. He was bleeding but it stopped, he doesn’t need stitches and they gave him a Popsicle and he seemed to be fine.

Wednesday: No phone call but Ouch Report in his file says that “While playing with a friend, Fussypants got scratches on his neck and chest.”

Thursday: No phone call but Ouch Report in his file says that “While playing with a friend, Fussypants got scratches on his face.”

Sidebar: Ok, said “friend” needs to have his folks provide some nail maintenance and grooming on him!

Saturday: All day soccer tournament for daddy, Fussypants is kicking the ball on the sidelines with Adam (4.5 yr old son of our dear friends and hubby’s godson). Adam gets the better of Fussypants while trying to steal the soccer ball and takes him down…then to make sure he’s down, he launches on his head. Fussypants doesn’t like it, cries some tears, sits on my lap for a few minutes, then gets even by not only wrestling Adam to the ground but also hitting him in the head, making Adam cry.

Sunday: Kings hockey game, gets super excited when a fight breaks out on the ice, then during the 1st period intermission, hucks his hockey stick on the ground, pretends to throw his gloves (he is not wearing gloves but he motioned his hands down in a perfect mimic of how the players do it to rid themselves of their gloves quickly and this is why I wish I had video) and charges his daddy – just as if he were in a fight on the ice.

Monday (today): I get a phone call at work from his school, Fussypants is ok but when running into the bathroom he tripped, hit his chin on the sink counter and bit the inside of his cheek. No blood, no cut, a few tears, and both his chin and cheek are a little red.

Please keep in mind that he is not yet three years old….no wonder I have so many gray hairs.

So far, so good!

  1. No trips the emergency room yet, right? Boys are walking disasters, or so I have been told.

  2. We have been to the emergency room twice. Once for a bad case of the flu and fear of dehydration because he couldn't keep anything in but turned out he was ok and once for possible head injury when he was at Costco with daddy and not strapped into the cart and he tumbled out onto the concert and landed on his head. That was scary but he was ok.
