Post #301 and What a year brings

Wow, so much can change in a year. This time last year I blogged my 200th post and was on day two of my 8-week bed rest.

Jump to a year later (because it really did go by that fast) and our daughter is now nine months old, I am back to my pre-pregnancy weight and I completely missed the fact that I hit my 300th post milestone back on February 25th!

I love to write, and trust me when I say my children provide plenty of fodder for amusing tales, but I had to take a step back, prioritize and redirect my energies so my blog has suffered. But it is like a dear friend that never complains and we always pick up right where we left off.

There is no way I can capture all that has transpired over the last year and I don’t have the energy to even try, but I am thankful and feel blessed for each day.

But some days I really do wonder how it is possible that something can seem like it was just yesterday but at the same time be a blur?

So, to catch up…here now, today…we’ve been hit with another round of illness, and poor Little Miss is sick again or still, I suppose the case may be. She has another ear infection (or the same one that never quite went away but how will we ever know – but only one ear this time, thank goodness) and RSV. Nasty thing in children under the age of 1, that RSV. She has to have breathing treatments which do help and keep her from being hospitalized, but there is no treat in giving a squirming, ill, nine month old baby a breathing treatment. But even in her misery, she’ll smile, which reminds me that healthier days are to come.

And for the record, I do not blame her illness on the preschool…she is just at the age where everything goes in her mouth and she’s really cute so strangers are always up in her business. So for all I know she could have gotten sick when she mouthed the table when we were out to breakfast the other morning, before her daddy and I could pull the highchair back or from that overzealous patron at Target who has a grandson her same age. Gross, I know, but it happens.

So I’m out, off to pick up Fussypants (who keeps telling me he’s sick, just like his sister and therefore must stay home too) and give Little Miss another treatless treatment but I promise to be better at blogging on a more regular basis, and not miss any more milestone numbers.

So far, so good.

Written for Mama Kat’s Writer’s Workshop: “What were you blogging about last year at this time? What has changed?”

  1. you have been very busy….

  2. Congratulations on 300 posts! I just hit 500 and couldn't believe it.

So much can change in a year.

I wrote about this prompt too.

Hope the little miss is feeling better. xo
